It’s easy to miss important news during the summer. Vacations, family barbecues, and all the other fun that goes on during the summer months can distract you from other less important things. This summer, however, you may have missed some important info about the long rumoured Ford Bronco comeback. Lucky for you we’re here to catch you up.

Here are all the need-to-know details about the upcoming Ford Bronco.

Release Date

Ford has officially announced that the Ford Bronco will be returning to the Ford lineup after years of rumours and behind the scenes chatter. You’re still going to have to be patient, though, as the Bronco won’t be back until the 2020 model year. While that may disappoint some people, it’s a good sign they are taking the time needed to perfect such a storied SUV.

What will the Ford Bronco Look Like?

Ford is being tight-lipped about any design details so far. The only statement from Ford says, “The Ford Bronco is back by popular demand. The iconic SUV was one of the world’s leading 4x4 vehicles for three decades, from the mid-sixties until the mid-nineties. This new generation Bronco boasts the latest in smart technology and a bold new look while remaining true to its rugged roots.”

Many industry analysts say the Bronco will be aimed at taking down the popular Jeep Wrangler. As it stands the Wrangler has few competitors with true off road capability. It’s a safe bet the Bronco will be perfectly at home going getting dirty in the bush and going through rocky terrain. There are plenty of websites with opinions and renderings of what they feel the final product will look like, but we’re only in 2017, so it’s likely Ford isn’t close to finalizing the design just yet.

Where is it Being Built?

According to AutoBlog, the Bronco is going to be produced at a Ford plant in Michigan alongside the new Ford Ranger. Yes, Ford is also bringing back the Ranger for 2020 to compliment the legendary F-150 pickup.

Details about the new Bronco are coming out all the time, so check back often for further updates on the much anticipated Ford Bronco SUV.
