Last year, we hosted our first Winner’s Choice 50/50 promotion. We had such a positive response from our community and enjoyed it so much that we decided to make it an annual event! We’re in the midst of the second annual Winner’s Choice 50/50 and we wanted to share just why the promotion has become near-and-dear to our hearts.
For every vehicle purchased, new or used, we put $100 into a pot of gold (by gold, we mean raw Canadian toonies). Over the course of the summer the pot grows and grows. Last year the pot amounted to $10,600 in total prize money!
Each vehicle buyer gets to choose their favourite charity to think of when making their purchase. At the end of the promotion, we draw one winner from the entrants. That winner gets half of the total prize money and the other half is donated, on their behalf, to a charity of their choosing.
As a business that sees many types of promotions come and go, we’ve found the connection to this one very strong in our community. While people often don’t love sweepstakes, we’ve found that our customers are so interested in choosing a cause that is close to their hearts that they get excited at the prospect of being able to donate more than they typically would on their own. Outside of our community partnerships there’s a whole world of important causes out there. Working with our clients to make the world a better place has opened our eyes and shown us how we can make a bigger difference in Meadow Lake and beyond.
In 2017, local resident David Iron was the winner of our 50/50 promotion. He took home $5,300 and chose the Canadian Diabetes Association to receive the donation funds. We’re happy to have been a part of this promotion that benefits our community and those around us. Whether you know someone who has been impacted by this important cause or not, knowing that you’re able to make a difference in the lives of loved ones is an incredible feeling.
